Emerald Foundation Supports House of Hope Project
11.1.21 Press Release

A Partnership to Benefit the Students in Philadelphia

In October of 2020, the Emerald Foundation‘s Founder and CEO, Joe Besecker and the Emerald Esports Director, Rachel Odrosky, delivered 7 gaming laptop computers to Grace & Peace Fellowship to help start their eSports gaming center. The Emerald Foundation is proud to partner with the Ertz Family Foundation on their House of Hope Project. This project will restore the Grace & Peace Fellowship building to be the foundation for delivering social change and developing and implementing enrichment programs and services in North Philadelphia. The House of Hope will include an eSports gaming center supported by Emerald Esports, the flagship initiative of the Emerald Foundation. The Emerald Foundation’s Esports team will continue to shepherd the House of Hope’s game center’s development and program engagement as well as reveal the pathways from gaming to career exploration for students in Philadelphia.

Grace and Peace Fellowship & the House of Hope Project via The Ertz Family Foundation featured The Emerald Foundation’s Joe (CEO & Founder) and Martha Besecker (Executive Director) on September 14th, in their series, Mondays of Hope as an effort to recognize the contributions made by the House or Hope partners.

On Tuesday, October 26, the House of Hope project took flight with its groundbreaking ceremony in Hunting Park, North Philadelphia. The Emerald Foundation’s very own Rachel Odrosky was in attendance to celebrate with Lisa Ertz, Executive Director of the Ertz Family Foundation. The fundraiser to renovate and expand on the building will help combat poverty, close the digital divide gap, reduce violence and address food insecurity.
