Code of Conduct
All participants from players to managers, coaches, and staff must adhere to our Code of Conduct while participating in an Emerald Esports event of any kind. This code may be regularly revised and edited.
- Emerald Esports Event Etiquette
- Respect Other Competitors. Always be supportive of your teammates and communicate positively to other players.
- Offensive Language. Any dialogue, nicknames, or any other verbiage that insult someone else’s ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability are forbidden and will result in consequences.
- Intentionally Misplaying. Throwing a match for any reason is against the spirit of competition and will result in consequences.
- Smurfing. Creating additional accounts or otherwise falsifying information relevant to competition is impermissible and will result in consequences.
- Cheating. Cheat or hacking will result in consequences.
- Harassment. Harassment or bad manners (BM) of any kind has no place in esports.Individuals who are found to verbally, physically, emotionally, or sexually harass another
will receive consequences. - Discrimination. Discrimination of any kind has no place in esports. Individuals who are found to discriminate will receive consequences.
- Violent Actions. Actions or threatening words directed towards another will result in consequences.
- Reporting
- Event Etiquette Violations
- Event etiquette violations should be reported to an event moderator. Violations reports must include a thorough description including relevant in-game names, context of the incident, and photo or video evidence of the incident happening.
- Violations may also be emailed to emeraldsesports@emeralde.org with the subject line “[Name of submitter] Etiquette Violation (Date of Violation, MM/DD/YY)”
- Submissions will receive a follow-up in a reasonable timeframe on the violation report.
- Match Disputes
- Match disputes should be reported to an event moderator. Disputes may occur when a team or player disagrees with the match result, including when an opponent breaks the code of conduct during a match. If you are submitting a dispute, be sure to include evidence that supports the claim such as score/result screenshots, videos of gameplay with relevant timestamps, or relevant communication between parties.
- If a match dispute is submitted outside of regular admin hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), participants are instructed to play through matches until they get a response from administrators.
- The results of those matches may or may not be adjusted after the match dispute is settled.
- Match disputes must be submitted within 24 hours of the match occurring.
- Match disputes reports are to be used to begin an investigation by event administration for match integrity. Disputes may also be emailed to emeraldesports@emeralde.org with the subject line “[Name of submitter] Match Dispute (Date of Match, MM/DD/YY)
- Submissions will receive a follow-up in a reasonable timeframe on the dispute investigation.
