The channel had previously been launched in 2019, in countries including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Now, because of the continued increase in popularity of esports in Europe and across the world, the esports channel expanded to cover additional countries. The ultimate goal is for eSportsOne to, “make esports even bigger in Europe in the future beyond the young core target group and to anchor it even more sustainably in society.”
